Super Saturday for Bann!

Banbridge Hockey Club Junior teams face the biggest weekend so far this season as 3 teams continue their programs for silverware.

The Second eleven face Annadale Seconds in the McClements Cup Final at Havelock (11:30am hit off). Although home advantage Bann will enter the game as underdogs as Dale have defeated the locals home and away this season. Both teams seem to possess the same blueprint, the cream of Ulsters youth players sprinkled with past greats of the game, ex Irish Internationals Lee Tumilty and David McAnulty will line up in the red corner, whilst Dale contain David Smyth and Chris Jackson. The game promises to be an exciting affair and we would encourage all members to support the boys.

The Fourth eleven after a few recent hiccups will hope to get three valuable points against Civil Service Seconds at headquarters. (1:00pm hit off). The fourths currently sit third in Junior Two, One point behind Mossley Thirds and two behind Kilkeel Seconds but with the locals still to travel to the glade a win this Saturday is vital.

The Fifths continue their Junior Four campaign on Saturday at Home to third place Cliftonville Seconds.

The locals currently sit in the promotion places but with no fewer than 4 teams chasing and all within 2 points of each other, its promises to go down to the wire. They face a tough finish to the season with Armagh Seconds(twice) and Raphoe to play but with Gareth Matthews, Bill Malcolmson and Clarky banging in the goals they have a strong chance of Junior Three hockey next term.

Unfortunately due to the lack of pitch slot, the game has had to be switched to Edenvilla, Portadown.
